The young family that moved in took renovating the entire place into their own hands, careful not to lose the intention of the original 1960s architecture. The couple consulted with one of their fathers, architect Alan Nicholson, who had worked with Henrybuilt before and introduced them to the Space Theory kitchen system. The homeowners were drawn to the system’s ability to represent the same refinement, quality, and high performance as Henrybuilt with a streamlined process, outcome, and therefore lower price point. Between the two of them, the homeowners had a fair bit of design experience under their belts: one the co-founder of a digital design agency and a new arts and culture magazine and the other a product manager with a background in home furnishings. They also had enthusiasm: the kind that led to all-nighters spent on architectural drawings that were operationalized the next morning.
